Here are some FREE resources for survivors who live in New Jersey:
- Operation Bling Foundation: Are you in need of a “Cinderella” moment? Operation Bling Foundation thinks all cancer patients are. Their goal is to bring some “bling” into the lives of women on the oncology floor of a growing number of New Jersey hospitals (plus one in Pennsylvania and the Hope Lodge in New York City). Lucky recipients get their choice of a FREE sterling silver cubic zirconium ring, earrings, necklace or bracelet “Bling Gift.” The foundation was started by Chris and Bill Ferdinand, owners of Ferdinand Jewelers in New Providence, NJ, when a longtime customer confided that she missed wearing her jewelry when in the hospital for treatment because she was afraid it would get lost or stolen. This inspired the Ferdinands to have “Bling Angel” volunteers present patients with fake bling that looks like the real thing, to raise spirits and return some sense of normalcy to oncology patients in numerous hospitals.
