Transportation

Sometimes patients have trouble paying for their transportation to and from treatment.

These organizations are there to help reduce your stress and financial burden:

  • Road to Recovery: Through this program the American Cancer Society offers FREE rides to and from treatment for people with cancer who do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves. Volunteer drivers donate their time and the use of their cars. Click Here, or call 1-800-227-2345, to find out whether the program is available in your community or to volunteer.
  • CancerCare Get You There: This program provides individual grants to metastatic breast cancer patients to cover transportation costs such as gasoline, parking, tolls, taxi, bus or train fare to and from their treatment. Patients must meet certain eligibility criteria to get this FREE service. Click Here
  • Corporate Angel Network Flights: The sole mission of this organization is to help cancer patients access the best possible treatment for their specific type of cancer by arranging FREE travel to treatment, consultation or check-up across the country using empty seats on corporate jets.
